Background and experience
Yevgeniy started to work in public health in 2003, when he joined the World Health Organization, working on a project to supply anti-tuberculosis drugs to a number of developing countries. In 2005, he enrolled in a PhD program in Health Services and Policy Analysis, concentrating on health economics area. After graduation in 2009, he worked for several months at King’s College London, and then joined University of East Anglia in 2010.
Yevgeniy’s research interests are in the socioeconomic determinants and consequences of health, especially in developing and transitioning economies. Specifically, he has done work on the effect of social capital on health; on labor market consequences of poor health; on the relationship between obesity and socioeconomic status; as well as on social determinants of nutrition behavior. He has also done research on economic evaluation of various healthcare interventions.
